This document contains the following information: Optional Protocol to the Convention on the elimination of all forms of discrimination against women: New York, 6 October 1999.

The United Kingdom instrument of accession was deposited on 17 December 2004 and the Optional Protocol entered into force for the United Kingdom on 17 March 2005.

This Command Paper was laid before Parliament by a Government Minister by Command of Her Majesty. Command Papers are considered by the Government to be of interest to Parliament but are not required to be presented by legislation.
