The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) is an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice that has responsibility for mental capacity issues. It:
- administers enduring and lasting powers of attorney
- supervises deputies who manage the affairs of others
- investigates and acts on allegations of abuse by attorneys and deputies.
OPG replaced the Public Guardianship Office in 2007.
