Details

In January 2026, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conducted an Operational Safety Review Team (OSART) follow-up mission at the Heysham 2 Nuclear Power Plant to review progress on issues identified in the original OSART mission in October 2023.

This OSART follow-up report includes assessment of the progress made on the operational safety recommendations and suggestions, to aid further improvement at Heysham 2, for consideration by the relevant UK authorities and EDF Energy.

The government has published a response to the report.
