Open general export licence (exports in support of Joint Strike Fighter: F-35 Lightning II)

  1. Greece has been added as a destination to the F35 open general export licence (OGEL).

  2. The current OGL has been revoked and a new one updated to remove Turkey from the list of partner nations and adds Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Singapore, and Switzerland as export customers. Also adds Luxembourg, New Zealand, Spain, and Sweden as countries which may develop, produce, trial, or test or use items. Provides revised contact details for the Ministry of Defence (MOD) Defence Equipment and Support Principal Security Adviser (DES PSyA)

  3. Title of revoked licence amended to (in force from December 2020).

  4. The existing OGEL has been revoked and amended to reduce the scope of exports to Israel.

  5. This Open General Export Licence has been revised to take into account changes in legislation following the end of the transition period.

  6. This OGEL has been revised to take into account changes in legislation following the end of the transition period.

  7. The ability to register for this licence has been reinstated.

  8. Licence updated and amended to reflect new contact details for the Export Control Joint Unit.

  9. South Korea added to countries listed under Section 3.2 (permitted destinations).

  10. Licence amended to reflect the new Government Security Classification System.

  11. First published.

This open general export licence (OGEL) allows the export or transfer of goods, software or technology for the Joint Strike Fighter (F-35 Lightning II) (JSF) Programme from the UK to any of the destinations or countries listed in this licence. This includes re-exporting goods, software or technology to and from permitted destinations, even if they have been incorporated into other products.
