Ocean Conservation Trust Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number 15/47/002/G/044 which authorises the abstraction of water from the underground strata consisting of Limestone at the National Marine Aquarium, Plymouth at National Grid Reference SX 48440 54060.

The variation applied for is to increase daily quantity from 100 cubic metres to 200 cubic metres as follows for the purpose of animal watering and welfare:

  • 15 cubic metres an hour
  • 200 cubic metres a day
  • 73,000 cubic metres a year
  • between 01 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.

As part of this application the Licence Holder name will be updated from National Marine Aquarium to Ocean Conservation Trust Limited.
