The study aimed to utilise time-specific changes in COVID-19 asymptomatic testing guidance to evaluate the impact of routine asymptomatic testing of healthcare workers. Key areas of investigation included its effectiveness in reducing transmission, its cost-effectiveness, and its contribution to mitigating the overall impact of COVID-19.
The evaluation was conducted within the context of varying local interpretations of patient testing policies. The study also sought to identify the facilitators and barriers that NHS trusts encountered when implementing different testing approaches.
