O W Wortley and Sons Limited: application made to abstract water

O W Wortley and Sons Limited have applied to the Environment Agency for a variation of their licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number AN/033/0045/003 which authorises the abstraction of water from underground strata at Brandon, Norfolk at National Grid Reference TL 77100 89850. The variation applied for is to increase the licenced annual quantity from 30,000 cubic metres per year to 48,184 cubic metres per year, until 31 March 2024, as part of a water rights trade with an existing licence holder. All other terms to remain unchanged.
The water will be used for spray irrigation. The proposed abstraction lies within the Cam and Ely Ouse Catchment Abstraction Licensing Strategy reporting area.
