Request 1

How many drivers have passed their C+E licence from April 2012 - April 2013?

Response

Between 1 April 2012 and 31 March 2013 6,950 individuals have passed their C+E practical driving test. You asked for the figures to include April 2013; this information is a subset of an official statistic (DRT501) which is not due to be published until 29 August 2013. The information you have requested could be used to calculate an official statistic’s figure. Official statistics are exempt from release under section 44 (1)(a) (prohibitions on disclosure) by virtue of the Pre-release Access to Official Statistics Order 2008 which limits access to official statistics until their date of publication. As this exemption is an absolute exemption we are not required to conduct a public interest test. A copy of this exemption in full can be found at Annex A. Whilst at this time we have refused your request for information, if you resubmit your request after 29 August, the exemption will no longer apply and we should be able to provide the information you require.

Request 2

Response

We publish information about the number of Driver CPC courses that have been completed on our website at Driver CPC courses completed. This information is exempt under section 21 (information accessible by other means) of the FoIA and a copy of this exemption is attached at Annex B.
