Salary range: £42,585 - £68,400

Base location:  Flexible - Any of the NDA offices

Reports to:  Senior Category Lead

The role:

We’re seeking passionate Category Managers to drive strategic initiatives. As part of the Commercial & Business Development Function you’ll help us to optimize our supply chains. From market analysis to bid evaluation, you’ll be responsible for shaping our Function in ways that are truly exciting. As a category manager within the CP&I team, you will be responsible for the oversight of capital projects and decommissioning across the NDA estate, the category oversees a portfolio of projects of circa £500M per annum, delivering infrastructure projects of national importance.

Accountabilities:

  • Validates and assures procurement activities within CP&I, including the design, analysis & evaluation of tenders.
  • Provide guidance the business on the correct routes to market.
  • Support the development of CP&I category strategies.
  • Become a subject matter expert, ensuring innovation, industry best-practice and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships to aid cross-group collaboration.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • Someone with a proven track record of conducting procurement activity, with experience in major capital project delivery.
  • Experience of developing and delivering category strategies.
  • An analytical mind-set, with strong commercial acumen.
  • Someone who builds cooperation and communication between teams and/or functions to enable collaboration.
  • Someone who seeks to build cross-cultural competency and helps others understand the business value of diversity.

Other knowledge, skills and experience which are advantageous:

  • MCIPS, expert membership of IACCM, MRICS or equivalent professional qualification.
  • New Engineering Contract (NEC) suite experience.
