Yorkshire Water Services Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is to vary licence serial number 2/27/27/002 which authorises the abstraction of water from groundwater near Norton-on-Derwent, Malton at National Grid Reference SE 80 70.

The variation applied for is to increase the maximum annual quantity from 909,218 cubic metres to 1,200,000 cubic metres. The water will be used for public water supply.
