Notice to Traders 97/22 Imports of Rice under Statutory Instrument 2020 No. 1432

This notice is to inform you of the next round of Rice quotas for the period of 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023.

Details

As this will be the first application of the quota year you must provide evidence to prove that you have imported at least 25 tonnes of rice during:

  • the 12-month period ending two months before the first application can be submitted for the 2023 quota year (17 September 2021 to 16 September 2022); and
  • the 12-month period immediately before that (17 September 2020 to 16 September 2021).

If you have used electronic licences you can provide a schedule detailing:

  • the licence number(s);
  • the date(s) of import;
  • the quantity imported; and
  • the import entry number for each attribution.

For imports without a licence you must supply a copy of the C88 import document certified as a “true copy” of the original, stamped and signed by Customs. If your declaration was made on CDS you must also supply a copy of the CDS declaration stamped by Customs.

You must also be established and registered for VAT in the UK.
