Notice 830: General System of Preference rules of origin

This notice explains the rules of origin which must be satisfied if goods are to qualify under the General System of Preference (GSP).

This notice cancels and replaces Notice 830 (August 2018). Details of any changes to the previous version can be found in paragraph 1.2 of this notice.

  1. Appendix E has been replaced with certificate of origin - form A.

  2. Appendix I has been updated to provide clarification that a standalone letter head is not a commercial document for the purpose of making an invoice declaration.

  3. The sections about what to do if you disagree with a customs decision, putting things right and comments or suggestions have been updated.

  4. Guidance about the Registered Exporter system (REX) has been updated.

  5. The long-term supplier’s declaration for products having preferential origin status and footnotes have been updated at Appendix F.
