  1. Guidance in section 2.3 on new rules on consignments not exceeding £135 in value, following the UK’s exit from the EU, and the abolition of Low Value Consignment Relief, which relieves import VAT on consignments of goods valued at £15 or less has been updated.

  2. The information about sending a package abroad has been updated, as you now need to complete a customs declaration for packages sent to a country within the EU.

  3. Information has been added on the increase in the level for which a formal customs declaration is required from 1 January 2021.

  4. The customer service contact numbers for Royal Mail and Parcelforce Worldwide have been updated.

  5. Guidance in section 2.7 on Customs Duty waiver and VAT relief on multi-gift packages updated, and section 4.5 link to Notice 203a replaced with Notice 204b.

  6. Article 165 of EC Regulation (EEC) 2454/93 has been replaced with Article 139 of the Implementing regulation 2015/2447.

  7. Changes include: * amendment to show increase in the level for which a formal customs declaration is required * revised legislation brought in under the Union Customs Code * increase in Gift Aid allowance

  8. This notice cancels and replaces Notice 143 (January 2016). Details of any changes to the previous version can be found in paragraph 1.2 of this notice.
