Normanby Estate Holdings Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is to vary licence serial number 4/29/06/*G/0037/R01 which authorises the abstraction of water from underground strata comprising of Frodingham Ironstone at National Grid References SE 90780 18280 and SE 90638 17483 in Winterton, Scunthorpe.
The variation applied for is to change the season of abstraction to April to September and increase abstraction to new maximum quantities of:
- 250 cubic metres an hour
- 4,680 cubic metres a day
- 160,000 cubic metres a year
The water will be used for spray irrigation
