Details

This document outlines the projects granted under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 during 2014 with a primary purpose of translational and applied research: non-regulatory toxicology and ecotoxicology.

The following projects were granted:

  • genetic toxicology - safety assessment (genetic, toxicology, safety assessment, rodents)

  • chemical agent studies and medical countermeasures

  • evaluation of pharmacokinetic properties of novel drug candidates (pharmacokinetics, novel drug candidate, mouse, rat, in vivo studies)

  • absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) and pharmacokinetic studies (metabolism, ADME, pharmacokinetics, animal health, environmental fate)

  • biocompatibility of medical devices and materials (biocompatibility, irritation, sensitisation, systemic toxicity)

  • can we predict chemical mixture toxicity? (fish, chemicals, mixtures, modelling, toxicology)
