This document outlines the projects granted under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 during 2014 with a primary purpose of translational and applied research: non-regulatory toxicology and ecotoxicology.
The following projects were granted:
genetic toxicology - safety assessment (genetic, toxicology, safety assessment, rodents)
chemical agent studies and medical countermeasures
evaluation of pharmacokinetic properties of novel drug candidates (pharmacokinetics, novel drug candidate, mouse, rat, in vivo studies)
absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) and pharmacokinetic studies (metabolism, ADME, pharmacokinetics, animal health, environmental fate)
biocompatibility of medical devices and materials (biocompatibility, irritation, sensitisation, systemic toxicity)
can we predict chemical mixture toxicity? (fish, chemicals, mixtures, modelling, toxicology)
