Details of the application

NNB Generation Company (SZC) Limited has applied to the Environment Agency to vary two licences.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of these applications (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006).

  1. An application to vary licence serial number AN/035/0003/013 to obstruct or impede the flow from a newly created groundwater basin at National Grid Reference (NGR) TM 45428 63470.

  2. An application to vary licence serial number AN/035/0003/007 to abstract water from the same newly created groundwater basin at NGR TM 45428 63470 and transfer it to the wastewater treatment works drain at NGR TM 45423 63476 without intervening use.

The variation to Licence AN/035/0003/013 is to move the impounding structure which governs the transfer of water from the currently authorised position at NGR TM 45428 63470, to a new position at NGR TM 45297 63362. As a result Licence AN/035/0003/007 will also need to be varied to change the position of the discharge point, for the transfer to the wastewater treatment works drain, from NGR TM 45423 63476 to NGR TM 45301 63357.

After the 20 November 2015 the Environment Agency will be able to grant the licences authorising the activity. The licence shall be viewed as granted, unless the Secretary of State, either as a result of any representations made about the proposal or otherwise, instructs or asks for an application to be made to them.
