Details

New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) are scientific methods used to evaluate the safety of chemicals. They include in vitro testing, computer modelling and other approaches that can reduce, refine or replace animal testing. The Committee on Toxicity (COT) and the Food Standards Agency (FSA) are developing a UK roadmap to support the use of NAMs in risk assessments.
