Detail

The government fully supports the National Minimum Wage (NMW) because it protects low income workers. It also provides an incentive for people to work. The NMW aims is to establish fairness in the workplace, ensuring that all workers receive at least the hourly minimum rates set.

Anyone entitled to the minimum wage should receive it. If a worker is not getting what they are legally entitled to they should call the Pay and Work Rights Helpline on 0800 917 2368.
