MWW Farms Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the River Teme at Bransford, Worcestershire at National Grid Reference SO 80168 53325.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 120 cubic metres an hour
  • 1,000 cubic metres a day
  • 40,000 cubic metres a year
  • at an instantaneous rate of 22 litres per second
  • between 01 May and 30 November inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for spray and trickle irrigation of crops. Any licence issued will be subject to an appropriate flow restriction to prevent abstraction at times of low river flow and will require a screen on the pump to protect fish species in the river.
