We have a received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for the following: 

The number of letters of request handled by the United Kingdom Central Authority (UKCA) from UK Police Forces in respect of requests for officers to travel to the United States, to be broken down by police force.

We released the following information on 15 July 2011.

I can confirm that between August 2010 and 21 June 2011 the United Kingdom Central Authority (UKCA) handled thirteen letters of requests issued to the USA where police officers requested to be present during the execution of the request.  These letters of request were made on behalf of the following Police forces:

Metropolitan Police Service (4 requests)
Police Service of Northern Ireland (4 requests)
Thames Valley Police (2 requests)
Surrey Police (1 request)
British Transport Police (1 request)
West Midlands Police (1 request)
