Merchant Shipping Notice (MSN) 1690(M) Amendment 1 is given effect by the Merchant Shipping (Radio Installations) Regulations 1998. It supersedes Merchant Shipping Notice 1690(M) and sets out the serviceability and maintenance requirements of radio equipment under the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS).
This notice applies to all ships to which the Merchant Shipping (Radio Installations) Regulations 1998 apply.
