Ms Sally Fitzgibbon has applied to the Environment Agency for two licences.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract (take) water from Spicey Gill at National Grid Reference SE 11186 47197 at Ghyllwood, Ilkley to transfer it to an intake channel at the same location without intervening use.
Ms Sally Fitzgibbon has also applied for a full licence to abstract water from the intake channel, mentioned above, at National Grid Reference SE 11189 47190.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

194 cubic metres an hour

4,666 cubic metres a day

1,703,090 cubic metres a year
The water will be used for hydroelectric power generation.
Further details are: All water abstracted under the full licence will be discharged back to Spicey Gill at National Grid Reference SE 11177 47291.
