Mr. Rowland Webster has applied to the Environment Agency for two licences.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006).
The application is for a full licence to abstract (take) water from the Linn Burn at East Plenmeller Farm, Haltwhistle, at National Grid Reference (NGR) NY 72289 62093.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 146 cubic metres an hour
- 3,504 cubic metres a day
- 771,000 cubic metres a year
- All year
The water will be used for power production using a Turgo turbine.
Mr. Rowland Webster has also applied to the Environment Agency for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of the Linn Burn at East Plenmeller Farm, Haltwhistle, at NGR NY 72289 62093.
The purpose of the impounding works is to build a crump weir to create a head for abstraction.
