Mr Harry Clarke has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from the Wey Brook at Mill House, Vyne Road, Sherborne St John, Basingstoke at National Grid Reference (NGR) SU 62579 55847.
Water will be abstracted for the purpose of hydro-electric power generation via an overshot waterwheel. Abstracted water will be discharged to a bypass channel on the Wey Brook at NGR SU 62590 55881.
The application is to abstract water at the maximum rate of 200 litres per second. Abstraction will take place all year.
