Details of the application

Mourneden Holdings LLP has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from the River Eden at National Grid Reference (NGR) NY 47048 54121 to transfer it to The River Eden at NGR NY 47048 54111 without intervening use.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 144 cubic metres an hour
  • 2,592 cubic metres a day
  • 946,080 cubic metres a year
  • between 01 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for the ornamental cascade at Corby Castle.
