Details

The report shows as of December 2010 the total number of registered charities is 180,000 with an income of £53.9billion.

The shape of the sector differs between the larger charities and those with an income below £10,000, in particular:

  • 84% of the charities with an income below £10,000 only share 5% of the total income
  • about 6% of charities receive 90% of the total income
  • the top 500 charities receive almost 50% of the total income
