Moorhouse Farms Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from underground strata (Inferior Oolite) at Ermin Way Farm, Ermin Way, Stratton, Cirencester, Gloucestershire at National Grid Reference SP 00649 05124.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

For the purpose of direct spray irrigation:

  • 40 cubic metres an hour
  • 480 cubic metres a day
  • 15,756 cubic metres a year

At an instantaneous rate not exceeding 11 litres per second.

For the purpose of drinking water for livestock:

  • 40 cubic metres an hour
  • 60 cubic metres a day
  • 600 cubic metres a year

At an instantaneous rate not exceeding 11 litres per second.

Between 1 April and 30 September inclusive in each year.

Abstraction will be via a borehole 123 metres in depth.
