Birmingham M6 toll road study
This study was centred on the M6 toll road north of Birmingham which opened in 2004. The study used a large number (35,000) of revealed and stated preference surveys and derived local parameters from these surveys for use in building a traffic model for the area.
The study conducted a travel demand analysis, willingness to pay and utilisation of the M6 toll road. In essence, the study was trying to understand how toll levels influence travel when there is an option between a tolled and non-tolled route.
