You should not draw on (disclose or use for the benefit of yourself or your prospective client or employer or their parent company, parent’s company’s other divisions, subsidiaries partners or clients) any information available to you from your time in Crown Service which could reasonably be perceived to give them an unfair advantage over competitors;

You should not make use, directly or indirectly, of your Government and/or Crown Service contacts, or contacts developed during Crown Service in other Governments or organisations, to influence policy or secure funding or business on behalf of yourself or your prospective client or employer or their subsidiaries partners or clients for twelve months from your last day in Crown Service. This does not preclude routine contact on matters aligned with Government policy.

You should not provide advice to any company or organisation on the terms of, or with regard to the subject matter of, a bid or contract relating directly to the work of the MOD or its trading funds for twelve months from your last day in Crown Service

For 2 years from last day in Crown Service, you must not be involved in any BAeS Naval Ships Activity, unless specifically requested by the MOD for specific activities only

Lobbying in this context means that the individual should not personally communicate with Government (including Ministers; special advisers and officials) as a representative of their new employer with a view to influencing a Government decision or policy in relation to their interests or the organisation by which they are employed or to whom they are contracted.

I must remind you that the Business Appointments Rules remain effective for two years after your last day in Crown Service. This letter relates only to your application to accept employment with BAE Systems Submarines, for which you sought clearance. Should you wish, within that two-year period, to undertake alternative employment covered by the Business Appointments Rules, it will be necessary for you to seek further approval. I must also remind you that the provisions of the Official Secrets Acts and Civil Service rules on confidentiality remain binding on you at all times. You should not draw on (disclose or use for the benefit of yourself or the organisations to which this advice refers) privileged information available to you from your time in Crown service. You should not disclose commercially sensitive information to which you became privy in your position as a Crown servant. You must not disclose information gained in the course of your employment which would give or might be perceived to give an unfair commercial advantage to a defence contractor. You must also not solicit (or attempt) to solicit such information.

Shape/re-shape your proposed role so that:

it does not involve working on the following contracts in the MOD supply chain: any held by Rheinmetall or its joint ventures in particular the MIV programme for 12 months from your last day in post:

  • Observe the following standard restrictions on contacting MOD to exert influence, involvement in bids to MOD, drawing on information only known to your through your role at MOD which would give competitive advantage, and requirement to seek permission from MOD for new consultancy commissions.

  • You should not make use, directly or indirectly, of your Government and/or Crown Service contacts, or contacts developed during Crown Service in other Governments or organisations, to influence policy or secure funding or business on behalf of yourself or your prospective client or employer or their subsidiaries, partners or clients for twelve months from your last day in Crown Service.

This does not preclude routine contact on matters aligned with Government policy.

  • You should not provide advice to any company or organisation on the terms of, or with regard to the subject matter of, a bid or contract relating directly to the work of the MOD or its trading funds, in particular any relating to UK MOD military vehicle requirements including the Challenger 2 Life Extension Programme,for twelve months from your last day in Crown Service

  • You should not draw on (disclose or use for the benefit of yourself or your prospective client or employer or their subsidiaries partners or clients) any information available to you from your time in Crown Service which could reasonably be perceived to give them an unfair advantage over any competitors they may have.
