An application has been made to the Environment Agency by MNS Textiles Limited. The Environment Agency are required to give notice of this application.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from the underground strata known as Coal Measures at National Grid Reference SE 12077 15847.

The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates and periods:

  • 45 cubic metres an hour
  • 1,000 cubic metres a day
  • 250,000 cubic metres a year

Between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for process water for wool dyeing. Further details are: the proposed abstraction lies within the Aire & Calder Catchment Abstraction Management Strategy reporting area.

A copy of the application, map, plan and any other document submitted with it may be inspected free of charge at the address of the Environment Agency at:
