A further update on work MOJ is doing to respond to the CJEU judgment of November 2018 in O’Brien No.2 and the Supreme Court’s judgment in Miller of December 2019.

Details
This update to the Employment Tribunal provides a further progress report on payments in lieu of pension (PILs) for eligible retired claimants in respect of their pre-7 April 2000 service. It also includes an updated template for the letter that is sent to PILs recipients, with improved information content and layout. In addition, we have provided data sheets setting out the fee rates we use in PILs calculations for years before 2000 to 2001 and data on average values for fee-paid sitting days.
