We have received a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 for the following:  

1. 1. Please could you tell me how many new ministerial “red boxes” your department has purchased during the following time periods:
       - 1st May 08 to 1st May 09 
       - 1st May 09 to 1st May 10 
       - 1st May 10 to date.    
2. 1. Please could you indicate the cost of “red box” purchases in each of the time periods.  

We released the following information on 24 February 2011.

1.  1 & 2. N ew ministerial red boxes the department has purchased during the following time periods:
    - 1st May 08 to 1st May 09       8 red boxes purchased, £568.00 + VAT per box.
    - 1st May 09 to 1st May 10       0 red boxes purchased.
    - 1st May 10 to date.                3 red boxes purchased. £639.40 + VAT per box
