MIN 681 (M) Amendment 1: Helicopter aviation inspection bodies

This MIN provides the criteria to be met for Aviation Inspection Bodies (AIBs) to be approved as a recognised AIB by the MCA for the purpose of issuing Helicopter Landing Area Certificates (HLACs).

Details

The MCA are not accepting new applications for authorisation as a Recognised Aviation Inspection Body under the United Kingdom.

Notice to all helicopter safety consultants and builders, designers and operators of “large commercial yachts” and passenger yachts” designed/fitted with helicopter landing areas.

This notice should be read with the Red Ensign Group (REG) Yacht Code which replaces the Large Yacht Code and Passenger Yacht Code as implemented on 1 January 2019. (Please note a new version of the REG Yacht Code was published on 1st January and will enter into force in July 2024, becoming REG the Yacht Code July 2024 edition).

This MIN replaces MIN 681.
