MIN 640 (F) Construction standards for fishing vessels

Fishing vessels of less than 7m LOA, whilst not requiring an outfit certificate, must be outfitted or have their outfit modified in accordance with the requirements of MGN 628 – The construction standards for fishing vessels of less than 15m LOA.

Details

This notice reminds all designers, builders, owners, managing agents, skippers of fishing vessels and fishing vessel certifying authorities that;

  • All new fishing vessels of less than 15m length overall are required to be built to MGN 628 – The construction standards for fishing vessels of less than 15m length overall.

  • Fishing vessels of less than 7m length overall are only required to provide a Hull construction certificate to the MCA as evidence of compliance with MGN 628.

This notice should be read with MGN 628: Construction and outfit standards for fishing vessels of Less than 15m Length Overall.

This MIN expires on 9th October 2021.
