Mike Dibden has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application (in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to obstruct or impede the flow of the River Itchen at St. Cross Mill, Winchester, Hampshire at National Grid Reference SU 47673 27275.

Water will be obstructed or impeded to install a new backshot waterwheel in the mill building for the purpose of power production. The existing debris screen will be replaced by a new 12.5 millimetre aperture spacing fish protection screen and a multi-species Larinier type fish pass will be installed.
