Agenda Item 1 – Welcome and introductions
Brian Bell opened the meeting, welcomed the attendees, and introduced new members of the Secretariat.
Agenda Item 2 – Revealing Reality: Findings from interviews on family financial requirements
A representative from Revealing Reality gave an overview of the interview findings so far including reasons for making an application, how the financial requirement was met, and the impacts on family life.
Agenda item 3 – Family visa financial requirements review: Narrative paper
The committee and secretariat discussed potential measures and indicators for setting the Minimum Income Requirement, narrative/presentation of these measures and practicalities. The Committee discussed potential recommendations for the review and a direction for further analysis.
Agenda item 4 – Home Office, MAC Secretariat and MAC updates
Della McVay provided an update on the Immigration White Paper and discussed recent changes to Immigration Rules. She then provided an update on the Quad.
Holly White discussed procurement for the MAC’s housing project as analysis is due to begin shortly. She announced that the procurement will open for bids shortly.
Holly also discussed timings on future committee meetings.
Brian Bell discussed his meeting with Skills England.
