Mick George Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a transfer licence to abstract groundwater from River Terrace Deposits within the area bounded by National Grid References (NGRs) TL 43514 83871, TL 44009 83769, TL 43817 83144, and TL 43249 83395 at Fenland, Cambridgeshire.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 300 cubic metres an hour
  • 3,000 cubic metres a day
  • 600,000 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March each year.

The purpose of this abstraction is to dewater excavations within a quarry.
