Mick George Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract water from groundwater source of River Terrace Deposits in the Nene Mid Lower Jurassic Unit at Great Billing Quarry, Northamptonshire, within the area of National Grid References SP 8235 6244, SP 8430 6256, SP 8441 6195 and SP 8249 6176.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 30 cubic metres an hour
  • 300 cubic metres a day
  • 40,000 cubic metres a year
  • between 1 April and 31 March inclusive in each year.

The water will be used for the purpose of dewatering and subsequent mineral washing.
