Mick George Limited has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a full licence to abstract groundwater from River Terrace Deposits within the area bounded by National Grid References TL 40460 82028, TL 40841 81975, TL 40812 81692, TL 40219 81811 and TL 41022 81043, TL 40759 81056, TL 40804 81659, TL 41098 81611 at Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 30 cubic metres an hour
  • 300 cubic metres a day
  • 60,000 cubic metres a year
  • all year.

The purpose of this abstraction is to dewater excavations for the formation of winter storage reservoirs.
