The first application is for a transfer licence to abstract water from the Cholwell Brook at Holditch Farm, Mary Tavy, Devon at National Grid Reference (NGR) SX 50948 80588.
The application is to abstract water as follows:

The water will be transferred to a leat by means of a weir and then used for hydropower generation using a crossflow turbine.

Water will be obstructed to divert up to a maximum of 35% of the total flow in the brook to a leat. Abstraction of water to the leat will also be subject to a hands off flow condition for the brook. The proposed impounding works will include improved fish and eel passage arrangements at the weir.
