  • engineer officers and ratings of merchant vessels
  • those concerned with maritime training.

This MGN provides guidance for the certification requirements for engineer officers, engine-room watch ratings and marine engine operators.

This note supersedes MGN 3(M) and should be read in conjunction with MSN 1692(M) and MSN 1740 (M) (or subsequent amendments)
