This notice should be read with the Merchant Shipping (Radiocommunications) (Amendment) Regulations 2021 and replaces MGN 641.
This Marine Guidance Note (MGN) is to be read alongside the Merchant Shipping (Radiocommunications) (Amendment) Regulations 2021 (SI 2021/1316) (“the 2021 Regulations”), which implement into United Kingdom law the requirements on ships in accordance with Chapter IV of the Annex to International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974 (“SOLAS”) in its current form.
Future amendments to Chapter IV of the Annex to SOLAS will have effect in the UK by virtue of the ambulatory reference provision in the 2021 Regulations.
