Decision of the Charity Commission published on 4 December 2012.

The commission declined to register Message and Information Safety Support, a crime prevention organisation, as a charity. The commission was asked to review its decision.

The commission remained of the view that the organisation was not established for exclusively charitable purposes and for the public benefit, and therefore could not be registered. The onus is on the applicant to demonstrate that an organisation was a charity, and this had not been done in this case.
