This is a response to a Freedom of Information request asking about meetings and correspondence between the winter resilience review team and the Met Office. The requester asks about circumstances where specific matters were discussed including:
- the definition of ‘a severe winter’ when experts analysed the probability of such an event
- the probability of severe winters and the calculation of their probability
- the validity of assuming severe winters are statistically independent
