Martin Irish has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.

The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.

The application is for a licence to abstract water from Halse Water at Holcombe Farm, Fitzhead, Taunton at National Grid Reference (NGR) ST 12575 28979 to transfer it to NGR ST 12695 28974 at Halse Water to turn an amenity waterwheel (not for power generation).

The application is to abstract water as follows:

  • 28.8 cubic metres an hour
  • 691.2 cubic metres a day
  • 252,288 cubic metres a year
  • At a rate not exceeding 8 litres per second.

Abstraction will take place all year.
