The Marshall Aid Commemoration Act 1953 was passed by the UK Parliament to express enduring gratitude to the American people for the post-Second World War ‘Marshall Plan’ for economic reconstruction.
This Act established Marshall scholarships for young Americans to study for a postgraduate degree at a UK university. These are funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and administered in the UK by the Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission.
This 71st Annual Report of the Commission covers activities of the scholarship scheme during the year ending 30 September 2024.
