Marine Planning Monitoring Surveys 2022 Summary
Marine plan monitoring surveys were carried out between the 5th January and the 7th March 2022 for the North East, North West, East, South, South East and South West Marine Plans.

This is the first time since adoption that surveys have been conducted for the North East, North West, South East and South West Marine Plans. The surveys were followed by verification interviews with selected stakeholders. Verification interviews are follow-up conversations to go through some of the survey responses with the aim of gathering further information.
Building on lessons learned from previous surveys several amendments were made to the surveys. These were, amending the survey format, increasing the number of general reminder emails, prompt emails to those who had started but not completed the survey, and involving our area specific marine planners throughout the survey and verification interview process to help increase response rates.
Surveys were promoted through direct email to our stakeholder contact list, social media posts, the marine planning newsletter, the Communications and Management for Sustainability newsletter, and email signatures.
