Manea Parish Council has applied to the Environment Agency for a licence.
The Environment Agency is giving notice of this application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
The application is for a licence to abstract water from Counter Drain (Manea and Welney Internal Drainage Board), South Branch Drain at National Grid Reference (NGR) TL 48640 88628 to transfer it to Manea Clay Pit at NGR TL 48245 88945 without intervening use.
The application is to abstract water as follows:
- 46 cubic metres an hour
- 364 cubic metres a day
- 8,000 cubic metres a year
- At an instantaneous rate not exceeding 12.8 litres per second
- Between 01 November and 28 February inclusive in each year.
Further details are: the abstraction will take place from the South branch of the Counter Drain in the Manea and Welney Internal Drainage Board which is within the Old Bedford including the Middle Level Abstraction Licencing Strategy area.
