The local authority (LA) insight survey aims to discover how LAs administer benefits and to gather their points of view on current issues.

This wave of the survey asks about limiting access to benefits for European Economic Area (EEA) nationals. Since April 2014, new EEA jobseekers have been unable to get Housing Benefit if they are claiming income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance. The survey asks LAs how this change has affected them.

DWP is using the results to help understand how best to work with LAs around EEA job seekers in the future.
