Commodity codes for the Northern Ireland Retail Movement Scheme (NIRMS)

Commodity codes for products that need individual labels under the NIRMS for phases 1 and 2, and the exempt products for phase 3.

  1. Updated the Phase 3 commodity codes spreadsheet to add new commodity codes.

  2. Updated the Phase 3 commodity codes spreadsheet to correct small technical errors in 'rules which must apply' for rows 207 to 243.

  3. We've published a list of commodity codes for exempt products that do not need labelling under phase 3 of the Northern Ireland Retail Movement Scheme.

  4. We've added individual HTML pages for the phase 1 and 2 commodity codes, to provide accessible alternatives to the spreadsheet list.

  5. Updated the list of commodity codes spreadsheet.

  6. The full list of commodity codes for phase 2 has been added to the spreadsheet.

  7. Updated the document formatting. Added the full list of cheeses that are in scope for phase 1 of the labelling requirements.

Details

Some products need to be individually labelled with the words ‘Not for EU’ to move from Great Britain (England, Scotland and Wales) to Northern Ireland under the NIRMS.

Use these lists to check:

  • which products you need to individually label in phases 1 and 2
  • which products are exempt and do not need labelling for phase 3

You can search the lists using either the commodity code for the goods or commonly used product descriptions for tariff or goods movements.
